6 Mac, 2015
ARAU, March 6 (Bernama) - Perlis Universiti Teknologi Mara (Perlis UiTM) are bent on winning the higher education institutions (IPT) football league title for the third year running.
Rector of Perlis UiTM and team advisor, Prof Datuk Dr Ahmad Redzuan Abd Rahman said the players have been training hard since January under coach Manja Man, the former Kedah and Perlis defender.
"The 25 players include eight from the former squad while the remainder are new faces," he told reporters at his office, here today.
Perlis UiTM are among seven teams competing in the first division.
The others are Kota Bharu Polyteknik, Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), Kolej Komuniti Kedah, Kolej Komuniti Pahang, Selangor Multimedia Universiti (MMU) and Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA).
Perlis UiTM are confident that skipper Mustafa Amini Ismail can lead them to three points in the opening match against Selangor MMU at Perlis UiTM Stadium tomorrow.
Ahmad Ridzuan lamented that despite winning the division one title in 2013 and 2014, Perlis UiTM have not received any offer of sponsorship.
"All our expenses amounting to about RM150,000 per annum are borne by Perlis UiTM in addition to a small donation from individuals," he added.
