Sabah Top Premier League, NS Matrix FC Fail To Defend Unbeaten Record

KUALA LUMPUR, March 13 (Bernama) -- Sabah moved to the top of 2015 Premier League table after defeating Kuantan FA 2-0 at Likas Stadium, Kota Kinabalu tonight.

With two goals from their import player, Eamon Zayed of Libya in the 30th and 59th minute, Sabah collected three points tonight, bringing the total to 12 to take the top spot.

At Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium in Paroi, Negeri Sembilan Matrik FC failed to defend their unbeaten record when they lost 3-5 to T-Team.

T-Team opened the score as early as in the sixth minute through Mohd Nor Hakim, who added another goal in the 60th minute.

Also contributing to the onslaught of the host were Sadriddin Abdullaev in the 23rd and 74th minute and Farhod Tadjiev in the 46th minute.

NS Matrix FC tried to bounce back with two goals via Francis Forkey Doe in the 26th and 50th minute, while Shahrizal Saad netted another goal in the 64th minute, but the score remained until the final whistle.

With the defeat, NS Matrix fell to the fourth spot with 10 points.

At City Stadium in Penang, the host kept their second placing with 11 points after a 3-3 draw with Kedah.

Penang scored through Faiz Subri in the 38th minute while Hilton Mauro Moreira contributed two goals in 46th and 91st minute.

Kedah replied through Bang Seung Hwan in the fourth and 89th minute while Baddrol Bakhtiar found the net in the 14th minute.

Johor Darul Ta'zim II booked the third spot in the league with 10 points after drawing 2-2 with Selangor PKNS FC at Pasir Gudang Stadium.

Two goals were scored by their import player, Nicholas Delmonte, in the 20th minute and Shahril Ishak in the 73rd minute, while Selangor PKNS FC 2 equalised via Gabriel Guerra in the 82nd minute and Farderin Kadir in the 88th minute.

Earlier this evening, DRB-Hicom trounced SPA Putrajaya FC 4-0 at Petaling Jaya Municipal Council Stadium in Kelana Jaya.

DRB-Hicom import, Ivan Babic, who was in brilliant form scored two goals in the 61st and 71st minute while Mohd Fakhrullah Rosli netted a goal in the 42nd minute before Hasrul Abu Bakar sealed the match with the fourth goal in the 83rd minute.

At Universiti Shah Alam (Uitm) Stadium, the home team edged Kuala Lumpur FA 1-0 with a goal by Syed Ariff Syed Muhd Uzir in the 39th minute.
