PETALING JAYA: Mali international Dramane Traore has taken the Cops to the top of the Super League.
The lanky hitman struck the winner in the 1-0 victory over Sarawak in the 33rd minute – for his sixth goal in six matches – at the Shah Alam Stadium on Friday night.
Police, last year’s Premier League champions, take provisional lead of the Super League standings with 12 points from six matches.
Felda United, with 11 points, can regain the lead if they beat Perak at the Selayang Stadium on Saturday.
Sarawak, on five points, dropped a rung to 10th, below Pahang on goal difference.
The Premier League too has a new leader – Penang.
The islanders came back from a goal down to score twice in stoppage time to beat Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) II 2-1 at the City Stadium on Friday night.
JDT II went ahead through Mohd Zaquan Adha in the second minute while Penang hit back through Beto Goncalves (93rd) and Hilton Moreira (95th) for a stunning reversal of fortune and top spot in the 12-team standings.
Penang have 14 points from six matches – two points ahead of Sabah.
