6-Goal Thrillers Light Up Liga Kebangsaan

Padang ISN, Bukit Jalil was the venue for Sunday's Liga Kebangsaan (LK) Under-13 and Under-15 action between teams from Sabah, Sarawak and Negeri Sembilan. It was an afternoon packed full of goals as the teams went into their games looking to outplay each other.

The match between Negeri Sembilan U13 and Sabah U13 kicked off the day's round as both teams went in with strong attacking play. Negeri Sembilan U13's Tengku Mohd Nor Saiful scored the first goal of the game with a fine shot in the 3rd minute. Pengiran Ilham of Sabah U13 got the equaliser in the 9" minute but Tengku Mohd Nor Saiful was the forward on form as he scored a further four goals in the 12", 22", 45", and 52" minute. Sabah U13 could not cope with Tengku Mohd Nor Saiful's fine movement and skill. The striker displayed great positioning and is surely one to keep an eye on for the future.



The second game of the day was the match between Sabah U15 and Negeri Sembilan U15. Negeri Sembilan ran out 3-0 winners with goals coming from Muhammad Nafis (19", 30" minute) and Abdul Harith (48" minute).



Sarawak U13 and Negeri Sembilan U13's match provided another entertaining 6-goal thriller as Mohd Wildan of Sarawak U13 opened the scoring in the 14" minute. Mohd Fitri added a second and Negeri Sembilan U13 added more to their plate of problems with an own goal. Mohd Wildan added a second to his name as the striker played like a true 'Number 9' by getting in between defenders to put Sarawak U13 4-0 up in the 40" minute. Negeri Sembilan U13 pulled one back just before half time but it acted as a consolation as Mohd Fitri was again on the mark to score for Sarawak U13. The game ended Sarawak U13 5-1 Negeri Sembilan U13 with the team from South Zone being soundly beaten by textbook attacking play by the boys from South Borneo.



The final game of the day was the match between Sarawak U15 and Negeri Sembilan U15. The only goal of the game came early in the match when Muhd Islah of Negeri Sembilan U15 scored a strong header in the 6th minute as a cross came in from a corner for the defender to latch on to it. The rest of the game was a war of attrition as both teams tried to break each other's defences but both sets of defenders were on form.

It was a fine Sunday full of exciting games which produced two 6-goal thrillers. Things are really heating up in Liga Kebangsaan as many players are showing true passion and hard work.
