Karnival Akademi Tunas Showcases Talent In Youngsters

Karnival Akademi Tunas Under-7, Under-8, and Under-9 in Bukit Jalil took place last Saturday with 20 youth teams taking part in the football event with 7 teams in the Under-7 category, 7 teams in the Under-8 category, and 6 teams in the Under-9 category. Karnival Akademi Tunas or
KAT789 was held on Padang E MSN, Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur with the field being divided into three seperate areas for the three catergories. Karnival Akademi Tunas also happened synonymous with National Sports Day 2015.
This time, in addition to having Akademi Tunas (AT) teams, Karnival Akademi Tunas is made even more exciting with the attendance of numerous private football clubs in and around the Klang Valley. Among the football clubs that took part in the Karnival were Royal Selangor FC, Gen-Pro Fc, Putra Kidz, Lestari Junior, and Subang Jaya SC. The teams that represented Akademi Tunas were AT Kuala Lumpur that was made up of AT Bandar Tun Razak and AT Wangsa Maju.
The event was graced by was Beatrice von Siebenthal, a representative from the European football governing body, UEFA, in attendance to see the youngsters' development.
The objective of Karnival Akademi Tunas (KAT789) is to showcase and give exposure to the talents of youngsters that are between the ages of 7 to 9. It is also a platform which would allow the player to play in an organized and systematic football competition whilst creating healthy competitiveness in the players. Other than that, Karnival Akademi Tunas provides the opportunity for private youth football clubs to compete with other teams.
In addition to that, Karnival Akademi Tunas provides prizes and medals to the best teams and the best players of the day. Among the categories in which medals are given out to are Overall Best Player (for all three age categories), Best Dribbler, Best Defender, and Player with the Best Vision. The prize giving ceremony was lead by Shamim Imran, Director of Competition & Facilities.
