'U13 Premier League Champions Manchester City Fall to Shock Loss'
7 Disember, 2015
Under-13 Premier League International Tournament champions Manchester City suffered a shock defeat to Japanese outfit Kashiwa Reysol in their game at KNS Panasonic Stadium in Shah Alam.
The Citizens fell behind in the 13' minute to a wonderfully taken volley by Kashiwa Reysol player Sohki Tamura who wore the number 8 jersey. Kashiwa Reysol dominated throughout the game, forcing Manchester City to defend deep inside their own half. The first half was a positive one for Reysol with their quick passing play, attacking movements and the speed of their wingers posing a myriad of problems for the boys in sky blue. The second half was a tighter affair with most of the play being bogged down in midfield, with only a few chances coming, despite both sets of teams going in on the attack. A Manchester City forward was tripped in the box but the official waved play on leaving the Citizens feeling hard done by. The game ended 1-0 to Kashiwa Reysol, producing one of the first (?) shocks of the tournament.
The following game played in KNS Panasonic Stadium saw Brazilian giants Corinthians against another Japanese team, Yokohama FC. Whatever fairy dust Kashiwa Reysol had on, was certainly not shared to Yokohama FC as Corinthians ran riot, scoring six goals in a thrilling match. Renato Emyydio of Corinthians grabbed himself a hat-trick, scoring in the 5', 24', and 34' minute with the other three goals coming from Hyago de Santana (8', 39') and Lucas B.Dias (43').
The final game of the day saw Spanish club Rayo Vallecano taking on South Korean big guns Suwon Samsung Bluewings. It was a tight and tense affair as both teams pressed on to win the game. The game ended 1-1 however; with Diego Lorenze Alvarez scoring for Rayo in the 20th minute and Se Yoon Cheon grabbing the equalizer for Suwon three minutes later.
