14 Disember, 2016
Venue : Maybank Field A & B, Bangi
Date : 14th December 2016
Session 1 (0900)
U-12 : Malaysia Cougars 2–2 Guri Junior FC
The background of a noisy home support in Field A accompanied both Malaysia Cougars and Guri Junior as they carved out a draw amongst themselves to both step through to the Cup quarterfinals. Cougars help the upper hand in the second half, puncturing Guri Junior as early as the 8th minute through Aidil Nazrin Ahmad. It was a different story in the second half where the Koreans managed to rise back to level the game 2-2.
U-12 : Buriram United 5–0 Foolad Mobarakeh Sepahan
Buriram United earned their first victory of the tournament by crushing Iranian side Foolad Sepahan 5-0 in their match at Field B. It was a spirited performance from the Thai side who relied on long spells of possession to break Foolad Sepahan into submission. This victory earned Buriram United third spot in the final Group D standings, above Sepahan.
Session 2 (1100)
U-12 : NFDP Terengganu 0–3 FF South Australia
It was a sluggish start for both teams in Field A, and when the chances did came, both set of strikers were in wasteful mood. NFDP Terengganu hit the bar in the first half. The second half however was all FF South Australia, and their reward was a quarterfinal ticket out of Group A. What a turnaround for a team that started the tournament getting whacked 0-4 on opening day.
U-12 : Sporting CP 4–0 FC Bunyodkor
For the third consecutive game, it was another 4-0 whitewash from the Lisbon Lions in Field B. No one will want to meet this team in the knockouts. Highest scorers in their age group and have yet to let in a goal past their defence, the only side in this tournament to do so.
Session 3 (1250)
U-12 : Malaysia Tigers 2–1 Evergrande FS
Top of the table clash in Field A and it certainly lives up to it with both teams not afraid to attack in numbers. The Tigers took a 2-1 lead into halftime and coasted through for their third victory in as many games.
U-12 : Spartak Tashkent 2–1 Byulnae
The noisy supporters from Uzbekistan had their biggest cheer of the tournament yet with their first victory brought on board at the expense of Byulnae. It would have been a different story in Field B had Byulnae just taken one or two of a clutch of chances that fell their way.
Session 4 (1430)
U-12 : Malaysia Panthers 5–1 Tabuan (U-12)
Malaysia Panthers stepped into the quarterfinals in style by demolishing Tabuan in Field A. Despite dominating the first half, the home side trooped off at halftime stuck at 1-1. The rain then dropped in and the Panthers simply revelled in it as a perfect second half ended with the scoreline reading Malaysia Panthers 5- Tabuan 1. The singing supporters in the background could not have asked for more.
U-12 : Gimpo JIJ 1–1 Saint Prima
Gimpo Jij did just enough to earn top spot in group B in an evenly matched encounter in Field B. An injury to a Saint Prima player had to see him rushed off to the hospital with a suspected arm fracture.
