14 Disember, 2016
Venue : MSN Field D & E, Bukit Jalil
Date : 14th December 2016
Session 1 (0900)
U-14 : Malaysia Cougars (U-14) 2-1 Saswco FC
Cougars showed their intention from the start in MSN D as a 4th minute goal from Arif Aiman opened their account, after a beautifully weighted cross finds him inside the box. Their second goal was even classier, Afiq Haiqal putting in the finishing touch in the 8th minute from a move that started from the back. A misjudged offside trap paved the way for Saswco to hit back through Andri Febriansyah in the 25th minute. 2-1 at halftime. The second half began in earnest for both teams with play switching from end to end. All the excitement probably got too much for Saswco’s Keisar Athhar who was shown a second yellow card for a headbutt on a Cougar player. No more goals followed as Cougars make it 3 wins out of 3 to top group C.
U-14 : Malaysia Panthers (U-14) 8-0 Foolad Mobarakeh Sepahan
Panthers saves their best for last in their final group game in MSN E, as Foolad Sepahan were torn apart in a 4 goals per half performance. This win secures their place in the Cup quarterfinals by virtue of being the best second placed team across all U-14 groups.
Session 2 (1100)
U-14 : Seongnam FC 1-0 Malaysia Tigers (U-14)
MSN D saw one way traffic towards the Malaysian Tigers goalmouth, with Seongnam’s midfielders simply overpowering their listless opponents. The 19th minute saw them earning their rewards through Lee Dongyu, a lead they carried successfully to halftime. The second half was more or less a copy of the first, as Malaysia Tigers finished the group stages with not a single goal to their name.
U-14 : Shonan Bellmare 5-0 NFDP Selangor
Shonan Bellmare hit the ground running with a magical first half performance that saw them hit NFDP Selangor with 5 goals, thus earning the Japanese side their first victory in the tournament.
Session 3 (1250)
U-14 : FC Seoul 7-2 Malaysia Cougars (U-13)
MSN D saw FC Seoul rising to the occasion to sink Malaysia Cougars U13, thus making the Cup playoffs stage. The 10th minute saw Guk Hyeon Ho with a sweet finish to the bottom left corner of the net from a cross into the box. Cougars responded just 3 minutes later through Amjad Rifa'ie who pounced on an weak palm-away by the FC Seoul keeper.
Paik Sang Hoon upped the ante with a drilled 30th minute shot to the right hand corner of goal for FC Seoul’s second. No 3 came just 3 minutes later through Gu Bon Jun as the Koreans trooped off at haltime 3-1 up.
A minute in to the second half, Lee Seung Won added another one. His second , and FC Seoul’s fifth of the game came in the 40th minute through a long-range shot from way outside the box.
The Koreans just didn’t want to stop now, Hwang Do Yun tapping in an easy 47th minute finish after a mazy run into the box. Another long range effort hits home in the 49th , this time through Guk Hyeon Ho.
Akif Afizi escaped his markers to whip in Cougars’ second of the game, but it was a case of too little, too late.
