Under-11 & Under-12 squads depart for Aspire Academy Tri-Series in Qatar.

KUALA LUMPUR – Two age-group squads assembled from various Akademi Tunas nationwide took their first international flight today as they depart for a four-day international football exposure in Qatar.
The Aspire Academy Tri-Series involving Malaysia set to commence on 13th March till 16th March 2017 with a delegation of 35 personnel – 13 Under-11 players, 14 Under-12 players alongside 8 coaching and technical staffs. All the matches will be held in Doha, the capital city of Qatar with Nagoya Grampus (Japan) and the hosts, Aspire Academy (Qatar) as its opponents.

It is known that Aspire Academy regularly hosts the best youth teams from all over the world to compete against them in the Tri-Series and the opponents are selected according to precise criteria such as the standard of youth development program in the visiting nations, profile and background.
This is the first time that the National Football Development Programme of Malaysia (NFDP) have received such invitation from Aspire Academy, which have hosted big clubs and academies globally such as Ajax Amsterdam (Netherlands), Liverpool FC (England), and Paris St. Germain (France).
Under-12 Selection squad
Prior to the departure, the squads have been grouped in a centralized training for two weeks in Saujana Asahan, Melaka led by Arulchelvan Illenggo and Abdi Hassan, for U-11 and U-12 squad respectively as all of the players came from various Akademi Tunas around the country after being vetted by the Elite coaching panel in series of selection process.
