Kelantan Must Revamp Import Player Line-Up - Azraai Khor
28 Mac, 2015
KOTA BAHARU, March 28 (Bernama) -- Kelantan must revamp the existing line-up of imported players to strengthen the first 11 of the team, said its new coach Mohd Azraai Khor Abdullah.
He said the team must get imported players of quality because the problem being faced currently is that the imported players were playing below the level expected.
"I need to spruce up the team, what I want is more short passing. We still have time, the defence is not so problematic.
"Rather glaring is the midfield because we have to find a partner for Piya (Mohd badri Radzi). We need imported players of quality," he said when met by reporters here, today.
Mohd Azraai said the time available must be used by the management to procure players of quality to raise the chance to vie for the championship this season.
"We must get players who are still in action because it is crucial. We need not wait for them to be fully fit because it will take time," he said.
The former handler for T-Team was appointed the new coach to replace George Boateng and he would be assisted by Zahasmi Ismail and Mohamad Sidek Shamsuddin.
The player transfer window will be opened next month and Kelantan currently have four imported players, namely, Emmanuel Kenmogne of Cameroon, Isaac Pupo of Liberia, Jonathan McKain of Australia and Erwin Carillo from Colombia.
This season, Kelantan exhibited mediocre performances in the Super League competition after only recording two wins in five matches and is currently in seventh position in the league with seven points.
