FAM Reschedule League Fixtures To Accomodate International Friendlies

KUALA LUMPUR, March 30 (Bernama) -- The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has decided to change some of the schedules in the Premier and Super league to accommodate international friendlies.

FAM secretary general Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin said also taken into consideration were schedules of state and club football associations that had qualified for the quarterfinals of the FA Cup as well the teams that were involved in the 2015 AFC Cup.

Malaysia's starting 11 will face two English Premier League teams - Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool, in May and July.

Coach Dollah Salleh's boys will face Mauricio Pochettino's team on May 27, and Liverpool on July 24.

"Accordingly, the FAM Local Competitions Committee chairman (Datuk Afandi Hamzah series) has decided that some amendments to Super League and Premier League fixtures in 2015 should be made to give way to Malaysia's selected squad to play in international fixtures," he said in a media statement today.

The Super League fixtures involved in the amendment are matches to be played on May 30, (shifted to June 27), matches on June 27 (brought forward to June 23) and matches on July 25 (postponed to Aug 5).
